Exploring the Impact of Planned Relocation on Agricultural Income Generation in Sri Lanka

The recent global acknowledgement of the importance disaster risk reduction (DRR) in steering world towards sustainable development can be discerned Sendai Framework for DRR 2015-2030 and 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development. Ironically, certain strategies like planned relocation have often undermined agricultural production, which is paramount achieving Development Goals (SDGs), such as ‘Zero Poverty’ Hunger’. This paper explores impact on income generating activities rural communities relocated under a landslide induced program executed Y district Sri Lanka.
